Meet Mykayla
Mykayla Turner holds a Master of Sacred Music degree with a Liturgical Musicology concentration from Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, TX and a Master of Theological Studies degree from Conrad Grebel University College in Waterloo, ON. She obtained her A.C.C.M. in Piano Performance from Conservatory Canada in 2023. Currently, Mykayla is a PhD student under the supervision of Rev. Canon Dr. Sarah Kathleen Johnson in the Faculty of Theology at Saint Paul University in Ottawa, ON.
Mykayla is an emerging liturgical scholar. She is the author of a forthcoming peer-reviewed journal article (Proceedings of the North American Academy of Liturgy), as well as a forthcoming book chapter (Routledge). She has presented her work at conferences in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
Mykayla is also an active church musician and liturgist in Mennonite, Anglican, and other settings. She has received instruction in piano performance and accompaniment, as well as choral conducting. She currently directs Ontario Mennonite Music Camp and chairs the team of volunteers who maintain Together in Worship, a curated collection of free worship resources from Anabaptist sources.
