Mykayla Turner holds a Master of Sacred Music degree with a Liturgical Musicology concentration from Perkins School of Theology (Southern Methodist University) and a Master of Theological Studies degree from Conrad Grebel University College (University of Waterloo). She obtained her A.C.C.M. in Piano Performance from Conservatory Canada in 2023. Currently, Mykayla is a PhD student under the supervision of the Rev. Canon Dr. Sarah Kathleen Johnson in the Faculty of Theology at Saint Paul University in Ottawa, ON.

Mykayla is a liturgical scholar. Her academic work is published in Liturgy, Proceedings of the North American Academy of Liturgy, and the Journal of Congregational Song. She has presented research at conferences in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. She also writes for the Center for Congregational Song.

Mykayla is also an active church musician and liturgist in Mennonite, Anglican, and other settings. She has received instruction in piano performance and accompaniment, as well as choral conducting and basic organ skills. She directs Ontario Mennonite Music Camp and chairs the team of volunteers who maintain Together in Worship, a curated collection of free worship resources from Anabaptist sources.
